Operation Clean Sweep – Objective: Zero pellet loss

It is with pleasure that we can announce that BontexGeo has signed the pledge of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) as a commitment to prevent the loss of plastic pellets into the environment. Operation Clean Sweep is an international program specifically designed to prevent such losses. Within Europe, OCS is supported by several national plastics associations and has been implemented by numerous European companies and associations along the plastics value chain.

Part of Operation Clean Sweep

Accidental loss of plastic pellets, flakes and powder can occur along the entire plastics value chain, from resin producers and converters, to transporters and recyclers. If spilled, these materials may be washed into nearby terrestrial environments or down storm drains and into waterways and oceans, with severe environmental impacts. The OCS program, with its various tools and manual, provides guidelines for our company to prevent pellet, flake and powder loss by adopting effective measures suitable for different needs.

“We are excited to become part of the successful Operation Clean Sweep initiative” said Rob van der Valk, Managing Director of BontexGeo. “We urge all of our employees who handle industrial plastic materials to pursue zero loss into the environment. We produce products that have a positive impact on the environment, studies have shown that the use of geosynthetics in construction leads to significantly reduced energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions. Operation Clean Sweep helps us to emphasize our commitment to producing these products in the best possible way and with respect to our environment.”
