Zele, 24/9/2021 – Nimbus has transferred her stake in BontexGeo Group, a specialized developer, manufacturer and seller of geosynthetic products, to Waterland Private Equity.
The BontexGeo Group, headquartered in Zele (Belgium), manufactures technical textiles for over 30 years, previously as part of the Low & Bonar Group and since 2019 on a stand-alone basis. The BontexGeo Group generates roughly € 100m revenues with production sites in Belgium, Hungary, France, Switzerland and the UK, from where it distributes its products across Europe. The Group employs over 300 people.
The existing management team, led by Managing Director Rob Van der Valk, stays on board to support the growth in the coming years. Nimbus, which took over the group in 2019, will be replaced by Waterland as a shareholder. Waterland will provide additional financial resources as well as strategic support. Moreover, the BontexGeo Group aims to explore further acquisitions with the support of Waterland following the three recent acquisitions in France, Switzerland and the UK which it successfully closed over the last 12 months under ownership of Nimbus.
Rob Van der Valk, Managing Director: “Nimbus has been an excellent partner to support the successful carve-out from the Low & Bonar Group and the realization and integration of the three recent acquisitions. We have a strong ambition to further strengthen our position in the European market, to expand our capacity and to get even closer to our customer. We have attracted Waterland as a new partner to actively support us in reaching these ambitions.”
Alexander de Haas, Partner at Nimbus: “Following the carve-out of the BontexGeo Group from Low & Bonar in 2019, the BontexGeo Group has managed to realize a strong growth trajectory on a stand-alone basis, both in revenue and profitability, with strong focus and entrepreneurship. Through its three recent acquisitions the Group has further strengthened its position in the European market and is ready to enter a new growth phase. We are convinced that Waterland is the perfect partner to realize this next growth phase together with the group and its management team.”
Nicolas D’heygere, Partner at Waterland: “Our investment in BontexGeo perfectly fits our strategy to invest in growing and proven companies who have the ambition to obtain a leading position in their market. We look forward to supporting the group in its further growth strategy.”
