Geosynthetics have become an indispensable part of our society. They are instrumental in agriculture, preserving drinking water quality as well as developing and maintaining infrastructure. One of the goals high on the agenda of BontexGeo is to also stimulate a greener construction industry. Over the past years, we have made significant progress in the field of environmental sustainability and are continuing to do so across the 4 P’s of our company.
Impacts that are less than 25% of the impacts of a conventional gravel based filter, for all impact category indicators that were investigated.
Products
We create products that have a positive contribution to the sustainability of construction projects. Conventional construction methods consume massive amounts of raw mined aggregates such as sand, gravel and limestone to create filter and drainage layers or build foundations. The extraction of such raw materials and their transport cause significant environmental costs including CO2 and NOx emissions. However, more often than not our products can be applied as a substitute reducing or even eliminating the need for minerals-based construction materials. This has been evaluated and confirmed in numerous studies.
Projects
All projects we supply have a positive contribution to the society, but below we highlight those where our geosynthetics are used to help preserve the natural environment, ensure sustainable water management and improve local biodiversity.

Processes
Our entire production flow and other parts of the operation are continually monitored and optimized to ensure the most efficient use of energy and other parts of the production chain. Our aim is to ensure that the creation and distribution of our products have a positive impact on the environment and lead towards a sustainable future. To achieve this, we have implemented a range of policies and practices across our organization to make sure our production is done in the best possible way.
Partnerships
In the partnerships we have with suppliers and service providers sustainability is always a key aspect in our agreements.
